I'll join and support it, but Morgan asked for ideas and I replied back what exactly he was looking for besides ideas and he hasn't responded back to the topic yet. So, I'd like to know exactly what the new format is going to be since the previous versions didn't work. In the last version I was the only one who consistantly posted anything and there were no visitors so it basically collected dust, I don't want to see that happen again and I'm sure Hope and Morgan definately don't want it. We have a good small community here that will hopefully grow, but if it doesn't we have each other which is cool too. If Bold is just going to turn out to be a carbon copy of this place or even worse then there's no point in it.

I don't think you have anything to worry about DP. This Bold should be right up your alley. From what I gather it's for serious comicbook creators only! No fansite stuff, no posting fan images, no forums, no contests. It's an online comic in effect. You were'nt around when we had the old BoldComics Studios, so you probally have no idea what the format was there. I'm sure the Morgans will eventually post something explaing exactly what the new Bold will be about.

Ok, I was going to build on an idea and then get everyone elses to perfect it. I am building the site right now and was not going to put it up until it was working then make changes from there. But since DP is wondering I have put up what I have done so far...Remember this is in the works so some links work and some don't... but now you can see where I am going so give me your thoughts. And Star is right, this will not be a fan site but a place to promote and publish comics under the Bold imprint. Click Here> BOLD COMICS Mr. Green

Well, thanks for the sneak peak Cap'n. I'm not saying that I'm not interested, and I'd love to have Bold publish my stuff, however I need to improve myself more before I even consider submitting to Bold. Submitting sequentials to fan-sites such as this and to a publishing site such as Bold are too totally different things entirely. Oh, and Star the earliest version of Bold that I was a part of was the version that had all the creators with their own studios publishing their own online comics and the other creators such as myself that couldn't get their own studios who just submitted character artwork and fan-art. I'm not saying that it should be like that again, just that it's the earliest version that I was a part of and it was at it's peak then. Seems like now they're going to mention the creators companies/studios in the copyright info. but only put the Bold logo on the books which is cool.

To clear a few things up. First Bold is a unification of independent comic book creators so that all will be under a single imprint (BOLD) instead of hundreds of comic names like Macks Comics or FunnyBone Comics etc. I think once it is established it will be like Image which is an imprint comic of sorts. With unification comes power to let retailers know we are out there. As far as the imprint, yes Bold will be there at the top left hand corner but if you look at the Preview of The Conquerors at Bold you will notice that at the top it says "A Unicorn Studio Production" I do not want to take away the identity of the creators so this will be the format for every comic. Yes each comic has a copyright statement pointing to the creator also. I will eventually have a FTP section that will allow the Bold Artists to upload images directly to the server, but I will incorporate them into the site.

In the Character section of the site it will be as you see it and each Bold Artist will have his/her characters spotlighted there. The same with the Artists area, a short bio will be included with the artist including a link to their website.

As far as payment goes, since we will be publishing in small batches the profit margin will be low, like say it cost $2.85 to publish we can put a price of $3.85 so you will receive 75 cents for each book sold and Bold will receive 25 cents. So now you say "Why should Bold get anything?" Will we have the site to maintain and also plan to build up savings to help promote the comics at Conventions etc. But the best thing is, you will be able to hold a real comic in your hands that your created.

I hope this answers some questions concerning Bold. If you have any others post them here and I will be glad to answer them or change things if you come up with something better or an addition to the site.

See I told you, he would clear things up DP. As for finding a way to participate there are many available positions to keep you occupied. Studio Unicorn itself is looking to expand with both staff and content. There's plenty of work here for anyone interested in the areas of ...Inking, Coloring, Lettering and perhaps even Writing. Studio Unicorn has several projects that are just waiting for your input. Remember, sometimes it takes more than just a artist and writer to put out a good comic [or even a bad one. lol]. Unicorn Comics has been a major supporter of Bold Comics since we first joined some years ago and visitors to www.unicorncomics.com will see that we even have a section of the site devoted to Bold Comics. So like I said before...we're in, the question is..."Are you Ready to be One with the Unicorn?" [I've always wanted to use that motto in actual speak.lol]!

I may be able to help contribute on the art end (fill-in pencils, inks, lettering, coloring) as needed. I'd also like to nominate Star as editor in chief. Things might benefit from some structure and I think his input would greatly help alot of the less experienced contributors.... just a thought.

oops, my bad! Morgan and Hope are certainly very fine editors indeed!! I just wasn't sure about their busy schedules which is the only reason I didn't list them first, both are first rate choices whose decision making I respect greatly!

Concerning the editorial section of Bold Comics, it takes more than just Hope and I so we could use help in the future. We will mainly review comics offered by artists and writers to see if they meet our requirements. For example, we had one submission last week from somebody outside Bold and Graphicmouse, that gave us a website and a portfolio site and in truth we found it to be done by a 10 year old with artwork that looks like it should be hung on a refrigerator door LOL So we have to tell these people to keep trying, improve your artwork, but not now for Bold. That will be mainly our job. So when we start getting submissions, we might need editors to look at the comics we will publish for grammatical mistakes or a better layout graphically, as we might be busy doing other things to maintain Bold.

Thank you for the Star nomination, he would make a good editor.

Thanks for contributing your artistic talents, because nobody can do it all!
