September 2008 Ramblings Yes, summer is all but over, and really it wasn't a hot and humid summer like past years. Course, having central air really helps too. lol.

I always feel weird writing these up each month. It doesn't contain any news, so calling it a Newsletter is not right. And there isn't any update, so calling it an Update doesn't work. So from now on out, this will be the Ramblings...at least until a better title comes along. lol

Since the summer is almost over, I would imagine that we would all have more time to do art, right? Guys like Temporal Dave who submit multiple entries really motivate me, and it's great to see everyone still plugging away and posting here.

I hope everyone had a great summer, this year is flying by. I was just thinking, maybe we can all think up some themes to do that we would all get behind. Maybe a tribute to the soldiers, or something like that.

Anyway, if anyone has anything entertaining to talk about like a Con they went to or any comic related news, keep us up to date via the forums.

AUGUST 2008 Newsletter

Summer is almost over, thank god. Football season is upon us as well. It appears that it has been a very busy summer for most of us. I haven't heard much from alot of you but last I heard MarvTMartian is expecting another baby, has a new job and has been drawing some kick ass panels/pages. The Morgans are into a new house, with a new business and website work and a new grandchild. The rest of you I don't know exactly what you've been up to, but I thank those of you who still post here. It isn't the biggest website around, but I'm glad GM is still here. It wouldn't be anything without the members and I appreciate everyone's contributions.

I may not contribute like I used to, but everyday I see new art from you guys, it does inspire and motivate me. A special thanks to Temporal Dave for another grand performance for the Draw/off. You always come through with awesome art and like I've said before, it's a real pleasure to see your stuff.

I hope everyone has a great month and finish out their summer on a high note. Thanks mousers!!

July 2008 Newsletter

Is it July already? Damn this year is flying by so fast. First off, let me wish everyone a happy 4th of July and remember to celebrate safely. I don't want anyone to lose any fingers...for us artists, that would suck.

Last month there were a couple good movies, like IronMan, Hulk, Indiana Jones...to name a few. Wanted is out, and this summer looks like a bunch of good films to go watch. I wish I followed the comic scene more, but it's to expensive for me to keep up that hobby. Which is why the comic movies are so special to me. I look forward to more Marvel Mayhem and of course DC.

I hope everyone is doing well and I like I've said, I miss talking to you guys and some of you I haven't spoke to in ages (Morgan and Hope). I know everyone is busy with their lives and the art is sporadic, but it still fills me with happiness to come here everyday and see any new artwork. Keep up the good work. It does motivate me to see everyones stuff.

Have a great July!!!

June 2008 Newsletter

Well June is upon us, thus beginning scorching, humid weather. Nice to have central air for once. I've noticed that things have seemed to slow down around here. I haven't seen or talked to any of you in ages. I hope all is well with everyone and that you still plan on sharing your great art.

I've been preoccupied with building my daughters swingset, which is now done. Also, doing stuff around the house, like mowing the lawn. First time I've mowed lawn in 20 years, I didn't miss it.

Gas prices are high and so I imagine we are all feeling the crunch at the pump.

IronMan did very well at the boxoffice, which was great for future installments happening. The Incredible Hulk, Hancock are on the horizon, more great superhero movies.

I'd be interested to hear from everyone, you can comment on this newsletter, so drop a line and let me and everyone else know that you still live.

Take care,

May 1st 2008

Hey gang. First off, let me congratulate Temporal Dave on his win in the last Draw/off contest. You did a swell job of participating and bring us some great art. KER, you did just as well, great stuff man. I was so pleased with the amount of great pics from everyone. It was a real joy for me.

So the Summer is rapidly approaching and what a way to start the month with the IronMan movie. It's worth the money to go see this if you haven't already. Indiana Jones is coming up, The Hulk movie, Speed Racer...bunch of good flicks.

Does anyone have some summer plans like a cool vacation or something cool? Nothing special for me, just want to get my garage built and a swingset put up and some yard work.

I hope everyone has a great month and look forward to seeing more kickass artwork.

Update for April 2008

Well, it's getting that time of year which I dread most...spring and then summer. Although, since moving into a house with a yard, I am excited to start doing somethings previously not possible, like building a swingset for my daughter and building a small workshop. We also have central air, so maybe this summer will be better.

May 2nd is fast approaching, IRON MAN movie, boo yah!!! I've already bought the action figures they have made for the movie and I'm looking forward to any IM merchandise as they advertise it to death. This movie is a long time coming and I really hope it doesn't flop.

There are alot of good comic movies coming down the road. The new Hulk movie looks promising as well. I wish I had some comic news to give, but I'm just not following the books like I used to.

It's nice to see some new faces around here and you guys are always posting great stuff. I have some ideas in the works, possibly bringing back some sort of prize for the Draw/off or for other types of contests. We'll see.

Hope everyone's spring is good and keep on posting art.

Update for March, 2008

Well, March is here. I got moved into my new home, still getting settled. I will never move myself again.

Taz was the winner of the 13th D/O and after some confusion on my part I finally got the new theme for the 14th Mega Draw/Off. Check out the contest thread for more info.

Let's see, two more months until IronMan comes out. As you all can imagine, I'm pretty stoked for that. Plus Batman and other comic movies this summer.

I'd like to wish everyone a Happy St.Patricks Day, don't drink and drive and have fun.

Also, I'd like to say thanks to everyone who stuck up for DarthPaul. It was unfortunate that he had to deal with that, but there are people out there who's only goal in life is to try to make others feel as miserable as them.

Keep the art coming folks, it is a geniune pleasure to come here everyday and see some great art.

Update for 4 February 2008

Well, February is here and Winter is almost over. Have I mentioned I love Winter and wish it would never end?

Valentines is coming up folks, maybe some of you who have sweethearts can make a card and post it here? Or what about a fun little challenge? Instead of art, how about writing? Hallmark always has good greeting cards, but maybe us Mousers can come up with some good ones...or not so good. Maybe instead of love we replace it with love-gone-bad?

The Graffitti wall is coming along nicely. If you haven't signed up yet, do so and put your permanent mark on the wall. If you have already done a section, sign up to do another one.

The 13th M D/O is due on the 15th of Feb 2008. Don't forget to submit something. Don't worry, I will have one posted. It's gonna be Sniffles vs. Dr. Doom. lol.

We still have the StarWars/StarTrek theme challenge going on and only one submission thus far. You guys are very creative, come up with some new characters or ships. Any form of art is fine...crayons, manips, pencil...whatever.

We also have some good comic movies coming out this year and IronMan hits the big screen in May. It's such a great time to be a comic fan.

Until next month....

Update for 7 Jan 08

Hello mousers, I hope the holidays went well for everyone and that your New Year is better than the last. It's been rather slow around here lately and the winter months and holidays can make us all pretty busy. But it's been nice coming here everyday and seeing new art.

First order of business is to congratulate Starchild for winning the 12th MD/O, Skin and Bones. Well done Star!! Everyone who entered did a great job. I definitely would read any of your books if they were out on shelves. Now it's up to Star to come up with a new D/O theme. Give us something really cool to do, not that the older ones haven't been cool, but really try to stretch our imaginations and pencil skill.

I'm sure we will have a new Monthly Theme soon, so if at all possible, let's all try to get behind that and produce some cool art...myself included.

The Graphitti Wall is shaping up very nice. It's such an awesome idea and when we get more and more art, it will be neat to walk down the street admiring what came before. If you haven't signed up to be apart of that project...do it. Even if you've done it before.

One last thing. GM may not be the busiest site around, but we still have a nice community and a great place to show our stuff. Even if you post at C2F or HM, don't hesitate to double or triple post here. I don't get to those sites so I won't see your stuff unless it's here. Thanks to everyone who supports the Mouse.

Update for 5 Dec 07

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE

December is upon us and boy are these months flying by. My favorite time of year and it has to go by so fast. I want time to just sllllllllooooooowww dooooownn.

As this year comes to a close, I'd like to thank all the members here who have stood by GM and supported the site. We are a very small community and that makes it possible for us all to know each other well and help each other out. You may think that I'm not around much, but I come here everyday. I just haven't been to artistically motivated and when I do start to work on something, it takes me forever. I hope that I can start getting back into the flow of things and produce some good stuff.

Aside from me, I've not seen some faces around here lately. Walley, KER, ??? I hope all is well with you guys.

Remember we still have the Mega Draw/Off #12 and only one entry thus far. I've extended the deadline to the 23rd of December. Maybe that will give some folks, including me, some more time to develop a good concept for Skin and Bones.

Thanks to everyone for submitting their art to the site, it is very enjoyable to come here and see new stuff from people. I hope everyone has a happy holiday and a great new year.
